Daniels Store & Marina 1963
Serving Seymour Arm Locals & Visitors Since 1963
At the north end of Shuswap Lake, Daniel’s began as the original floating general store, opened by local Alf Daniels in the spring of 1963.
Alf owned and operated the store for 44 years, originally supplying fuel and fishing tackle to locals and visitors. Many longtime summer residents still remember working at Daniel’s—and even hand-pumping gas from the old manual pump!
More than 60 years later, Daniel’s Store & Marina continues to be a little piece of Seymour Arm history.
A New Chapter
In 2007, the Kriese family purchased Daniel’s Store, investing in improvements to the store and surrounding property. In 2015, they expanded the marina to better serve Seymour Arm’s boating community.
After nine years, the store passed to Markus and Kaarina Schrott, who also had strong ties to Seymour Arm. Markus spent part of his childhood here and attended the local school, which operated out of the community hall in the 1980s.
In the summer of 2026, Shanna and Teddy became the new owners of Daniel’s Store & Marina, excited to carry on its more than 60-year history while beginning their own chapter in Seymour Arm.
From one family to the next, Daniel’s continues to be a special part of the Seymour Arm community.
Daniels Store & Marina 2022
Seymour Arm, originally Ogden City, was recognized as a Gold Rush town in 1865 with over 5000 visitors heading to the Big Bend Gold Rush hoping to strike it rich! Wiped out by a forest fire the town was not rebuilt until the early 1900’s and was then renamed Seymour Arm.
The area is now a bustling recreational community with over 300 seasonal properties and many locals and guests that visit the soft, white sand beach of the local Provincial Park, Silver Beach. There are many things to participate in during the summer months including the Summer Sizzler (a slow pitch tournament every August Long Weekend), a weekly Farmers Market and even an ongoing game of Horseshoes every Sunday in the Park.
The store has always been the hub of the community and provides a Liquor Store, Fresh Groceries, Souvenirs, Propane refills, Fuel (both vehicle and marine) and Wi Fi/Cellular reception to the locals and guests of the area.
